At the beginning of May, we invite our neighbors and the people of Kelbra and the surrounding region to a festival to give them insights into our work and the progress we’re making in developing CircusMühle Kelbra. We invite you to a big celebration with shows by international artists, as well as beer and bratwurst, wine and falafel, coffee and cake. We look forward to celebrating with the locals!
On May 6, 2023, we opened our doors for the first time for a big neighborhood festival. Since then, we’ve been repeating the art festival every year at the beginning of May.
There’s always so much to do at CircusMühle Kelbra!
That’s why we’re happy to offer you residencies in the form of work camps.
You can live and work with us for a minimal contribution for expenses of electricity, water, heating, etc.
In return, you’ll help us with the work we do here for about 3-4 hours a day. The rest of the time, you can work or train freely for your own art – a rehearsal space is available to you day and night.
Also possible is that we organize workshops, training sessions, or mentoring from our network for this model.
At irregular intervals, we organize Circus Work Camp weeks. Before or after work, we train together, with or without guidance: aerial arts, acrobatics, juggling, clowning – anything is possible!
For schedule information, subscribe to our Circus-Work-Camp-Telegram-Group.
Since winter 2024, we have been conducting oral history and regularly invited people for coffee and cake or a morning pint. Everyone is welcome, and we are especially pleased to welcome people who knew the mill in the past—as mill, discount store, or lasertech labyrinth. We open temporary cafés of memories in the mill to engage with former workers, neighbors, family, and others. We hope to gather stories, anecdotes, and memories from which we can spin narrative threads for future performances.
