Residencies

CircusMühle Kelbra is open to artists from all over the world. We focus on performing arts in public spaces and circus. For art production, artistic research, and experimentation, we offer numerous indoor spaces, two high-ceilinged rehearsal halls, and a variety of outdoor spaces in a peaceful and creative atmosphere.
In addition to the work spaces, there are 18 beds in four self-catering apartments.
We are currently unable to offer catering.

Since we don’t receive permanent funding, we can only offer residencies through targeted funding programs and project grants. Please contact us before submitting your application.

Rentals are also possible, in the workspaces, apartments, or both.

Location

CircusMühle Kelbra is located on the outskirts of Kelbra, a rural town in Saxony-Anhalt, exactly halfway between Halle and Göttingen, Magdeburg and Erfurt.
The very rural location offers good transport (train station – 20 minutes by foot, A38 motorway – 7 minutes) and basic amenities such as a supermarket, bakery, pharmacy, etc. within walking distance.
Kelbra is scenically situated in a valley between the Kyffhäuser and Southern Harz regions, at the Helmetal Dam (featuring a unique resting place for cranes).
